Nagano Prefecture Approves Local Consortium for Integrated Resort Development
Nagano Prefecture in Japan has officially selected the Nagano IR Consortium as the preferred candidate for an integrated resort (IR) development project. The prefectural government has given the green light to consider the consortium’s proposal, which includes a casino resort alongside ski and other leisure facilities. This move marks a significant step forward in Nagano’s efforts to participate in Japan’s emerging IR landscape. The Nagano IR Consortium responded to the prefecture’s invitation to submit proposals aimed at stimulating regional economic growth through creating a multi-purpose entertainment and tourism complex. With the approval, Nagano Prefecture will proceed with further evaluations and discussions regarding the project’s feasibility and specifics. This development aligns with Japan’s broader strategy to promote integrated resorts to boost tourism and local economies.
