ZA/UM, the studio acclaimed for the award-winning RPG Disco Elysium, announced that its next game, Zero Parades, will be released in May 2024. This marks ZA/UM's first new release since the departure of several key creative members in 2022. Unlike Disco Elysium’s isometric RPG style, Zero Parades is a side-scrolling RPG that tells the story of a lost boy trying to find his mother through the dreamlike and decaying city of Angels Crossing. The game combines atmospheric storytelling with a distinctive art style developed by Brazilian artist Eloi Andaluz and features a soundtrack from British composer Peter Peter. The announcement signals ZA/UM's commitment to exploring new narrative and gameplay styles, broadening its portfolio beyond the political and philosophical themes of Disco Elysium. With Zero Parades, the studio aims to deliver a transformative and emotionally resonant gaming experience in a fresh genre format.
