The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has fined BetMGM $150,000 after finding that the gambling operator violated state self-exclusion marketing restrictions. The PGCB determined that BetMGM sent promotional materials to customers who had opted out of all gambling-related marketing, contravening established regulatory requirements. These violations occurred during multiple instances totaling 346 from May 2022 through January 2023. As a result, BetMGM agreed to pay the monetary penalty and implement remedial measures. The operator will now enhance employee training programs focused on compliance with self-exclusion rules and strengthen internal procedures to prevent recurrence. This action demonstrates the PGCB’s ongoing commitment to enforcing responsible gambling practices within the Pennsylvania market.
