Over 15,000 Ukrainians Listed in National Problem Gamblers Registry

The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine has announced that more than 15,000 Ukrainians are currently included in the country’s national register of problem gamblers. The register was established to mitigate gambling-related harm by identifying individuals who struggle with gambling addiction and restricting their ability to participate in gambling activities. Ukrainian citizens can be entered into the register either voluntarily through self-exclusion requests or by court rulings based on medical or psychological diagnoses confirming gambling disorders. Licensed gambling operators in Ukraine are mandated to consult this registry before allowing participation, ensuring compliance with responsible gambling regulations implemented after gambling legalization in Ukraine in 2020. This measure is part of the government's broader framework to promote safe gambling practices and prevent the exacerbation of gambling addiction across the country.
