Gambling addiction remains a significant issue within the Ukrainian armed forces despite an existing ban on gambling activities for military personnel. The regulation was established to curb such behavior, but it has not resulted in the expected reduction in gambling among soldiers. Investigations have been launched to uncover the reasons behind the failure to enforce the prohibition effectively. The persistence of gambling addiction negatively affects military discipline and operational readiness. The article highlights concerns that current measures and oversight are insufficient to mitigate the problem and stresses the need for improved enforcement and support mechanisms to assist affected service members.
