The Ukrainian armed forces have officially prohibited gambling among military personnel. However, cases of gambling addiction continue to be reported, undermining the ban's effectiveness. Investigations carried out into violations of this prohibition reveal persistent gambling engagement among soldiers. These findings highlight shortcomings in both enforcement and preventative initiatives designed to curb gambling within the military. The ongoing issue of gambling addiction raises concerns about the psychological well-being and discipline of service members. Despite formal rules, the habit remains a challenge for Ukrainian military leadership as they struggle to implement comprehensive solutions. The persistence of gambling activity in the armed forces calls for strengthened oversight and more effective measures to address this problem within Ukraine's military context.
