Andong City to Begin Construction of Esports Stadium in June 2023

Andong City in South Korea will commence construction of a new dedicated esports stadium on June 5, 2023. The stadium is part of an initiative to boost the local esports ecosystem and related industries. Scheduled for completion in October 2024, the project is estimated to cost approximately 8.7 billion KRW. The planned facility will feature a main arena with seating capacity for 280 people, alongside training rooms and dedicated spaces to support game developers and esports-related industry players. The initiative is supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency under the 'Esports Specialized Industrial Complex' program. This development aims to cultivate esports culture in Andong and establish the city as a regional hub for gaming and esports activities.
