The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR
) revealed that around 10 million Filipinos are now actively using licensed online gambling platforms, highlighting the continued growth of the country’s digital gaming sector.

According to PAGCOR, the increasing number of users reflects the rapid rise of mobile betting, online casinos, and digital gambling services across the Philippines. The agency noted that regulated platforms continue to contribute significant revenues through taxes, licensing fees, and other gaming-related income.

Growing Digital Gambling Market

Industry analysts believe the Philippine online gambling market could continue expanding in the coming years as more Filipinos shift toward mobile-based gaming platforms and digital payment systems.

The popularity of e-wallet services and faster internet access has also helped accelerate the growth of online gambling in the country. Many users now prefer the convenience of placing bets or accessing casino games directly through their smartphones instead of visiting physical gaming venues.

PAGCOR also emphasized that licensed operators are required to follow responsible gaming measures, including age verification systems, player protection policies, and self-exclusion features designed to help prevent gambling addiction.

Calls for Stricter Regulation

Despite the industry’s strong growth, concerns regarding responsible gaming and gambling advertisements continue to rise.

Lawmakers and advocacy groups have recently pushed for tighter monitoring of gambling-related promotions, particularly on social media and streaming platforms where younger audiences are more active. PAGCOR and the Ad Standards Council (ASC) are also exploring stricter regulations on gambling advertisements in the country.
